Krak des Chevaliers - Syria: The finest castle in the world, according to TE Lawrence, was built between 1150 and 1250. It guards the only major pass between Antakya in Turkey and Beirut in Lebanon. It is 650 m above sea-level, an area of 3000 square meters and has 13 huge towers.It was built for controlling the Homs Gap, gateway to Sryia.
Krak de los Caballeros - Siria: El castillo más hermoso del mundo, según T.E. Lawrence, se construyó entre 1150 y 1250. Vigila el único desfiladero de importancia entre Antakya en TurquÃa y Beirut en el LÃbano. Está 650 metros sobre el nivel del mar, cubre un área de 3000 metros cuadrados y tiene 13 torres enormes. Se construyó para controlar el llamado âDesfiladero de Homsâ, la entrada a Siria.
