	The Red Pyramid-Dashur-Egypt Author: Marta Leonor Vidal Text: The "Red Pyramid" in Dashur (named for the red limestone used in its construction), is the oldest true pyramid in Egypt and the immediate predecessor of the pyramids that would come later.

	Bab al Nasr or Gate of Victory-Cairo-Egypt Author: Marta Leonor Vidal Text: Bab al Nasr is the only one of the three major gates of ancient Cairo composed of two rectangular towers. Bonaparte's troops used it to protect themselves from the rebellious Cairo population.
	Bab Zuwayla-Cairo-Egypt Author: Marta Leonor Vidal Text: The two minarets that spring from the towers belong to the Mosque of al-Mu'ayyad, which is located just inside the gate. They were placed atop the gate some 400 years after it was built, and make it seem far mightier than the Northern Gates.
