Maktab Anbar-Damascus - Syria: Maktab Anbar was built in the 19th century by an outlandish Jewish millionaire when he came back from India. Finally when he was ruined, he sold the house. It was restored recently to become a cultural center. It contains some striking tinted glass windows, spacious patios, ornamented halls and ceilings.
