Samarkanda- Uzbekistan: Situated in the valley of the river Zarafshan. It is one of the most ancient cities of Uzbekistán. The history of Samarkand is about 2,500 years old. It was one of the most important cities in the Silk Road, which united empires so distant as Roman and Chinese Empires. Tamirlane set up the capital of his huge empire in Samarkand at the end of 14th century.
