Omayyad Mosque-The Treasury Dome-Damascus - Syria: The Treasury Dome (Qubbat al Khaznah) was built during the reign of the Abbasid ruler Fadil ibn Saleh to protect public funds from thieves and fire. It is exquisitely decorated with fine mosaic work and is elevated by eight marble supports and in the courtyard.
