Azem Palace-Damascus - Syria: One of most famous buildings of Old Damascus. Built by Asaâad Pasha al-Azem, governor of Damascus, in 1749. Now houses the Museum of Arts and Popular Traditions. With beautiful gardens, polychrome stone, splendid marble, cascading fountains, and fragrant flowers it is an astonishing example of an ancient Damascene house.
